It only took one afternoon with
sculptor Joe Haygarth for Glen Nicholson
to be hooked on soapstone carving. Something clicked, and he knew he had found a direction
for his creativity. Immediately he began exploring more techniques and more kinds, shapes and
colours of stone. His shapes become
more daring and unique with each new creation.
Some of his pieces also include carved wood components which easily
compliment the stone.
If you drive by his home in Dashwood on a sunny day you will likely see him behind his shop deeply focused on the creation of a new piece.
Come for a chat and see Glen work at the South Huron Rec Centre on August 16 at the fundraiser for Jessica’s House – ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’.
