Jessica’s House has a
special meaning for Mary Lou Hyde. Jim and Mary Lou know how much a respite
hospice would mean. As soon
as Mary Lou learned about the Jessica’s House project she knew that this was a
project she needed to support; from a single idea, the ‘All Things Bright and
Beautiful’ steering committee was quickly formed and ideas exploded. The effort
to create this very special fundraiser for Jessica’s House now ripples
throughout the community.
With the help of many
committee and sub-committee volunteers, plans for an amazing event are under
way for August 16th at the South Huron Recreation Centre. The theme for this event, “All Things
Bright and Beautiful,” will be reflected in a silent and live art auction, a
salsa-tasting competition, art demonstrations and keynote speakers Dennis Hull
and Melanie McCann. Quoting Don Cherry's Sport Heroes book - "There are two
guys you never, ever followed if you had to give a speech at a banquet. One was
Dennis Hull and the other was Red Storey." The
MC for the evening will be CTV’s Scott Miller. There will be something for everyone including a cash bar
operated by the Exeter Hawks.
